4. Nature of the Event
- The duck race is conducted as a fundraising lottery under the charity's Small Society Lottery registration.
- Prior to the race, all tickets are randomly assigned to a uniquely numbered duck.
- Ducks are placed into a 'duck launcher', a large container designed to tip the ducks into the river at the start of the race. Ducks are placed into the launcher in a random manner.
- The finish line position will be determined on the day of the event based on the prevailing weather and tidal conditions.
- Winners of the race prizes are determined by the finishing order of the numbered ducks.
- Additional prizes may be awarded through a lucky dip process where winners are randomly drawn from the launch container.
